OPEN CALL: SUMMER SESSION 2025

We’re thrilled to announce that HEKA / PiNA is participating as a host partner in this year’s Summer Sessions, coordinated by V2_ Lab for the Unstable Media. This means we will host a 6-8 week residency focused on spatial sound, inviting sound artists and enthusiasts to develop and showcase their projects in an immersive environment.
The Summer Sessions are short-term international art and technology residencies designed to support emerging artists and designers in realizing their ideas. HEKA, the art & science laboratory in Koper, generally gives opportunities to merge diverse knowledge bases and expertise, exploring the power of interdisciplinary collaborations.
What do we, as a hosting institution, offer?
- Access to our spatial sound audio unit KUBER (HEKA).
- Expert mentorship and support (from a composer, curator of the KUBER – Mauricio Valdés San Emeterio).
- Hands-on experience in the context of spatial sound research and production.
- A final public presentation of the outcome, making use of our infrastructure.
Who can apply?
If you are an artist working or have thoughts around the intersection of art and technology, your ideas may be eligible if you:
- Are under 35 or have graduated within the past five years.
- Live in the country of a sponsoring partner (Netherlands, Portugal, Croatia, or Italy).
- Artists from Slovenia are not eligible this year.
How can you apply, and what is covered?
- Trough THIS link.
- A production budget covering travel, accommodation, materials, and a stipend from the supporting institution.
Residency duration: 6-8 weeks (between July and October 2025)
Application deadline: 7 April 2025 (Midnight, CEST)
